Briefly introduce yourself and explain why you are interested in becoming a mentor for BranchOut!:
My parents always teach me that helping others is very important. I also think that volunteering to helping other people is a very good thing. I learned about BranchOut program from my parents and my friends, I feel like it’s a great program and it’s very similar to what I am doing in my own school. I’m currently a member of our school’s Angels Network Club, as members, we provide help to others in need.
The past Summer, I joined a program called Youth Building Bridges. I went back to Fujian China to teach the local 8th graders. During the 3 weeks teaching period, I and my teammates prepared the curriculum, text books and lectures, we passed our knowledge and culture to our students. By the time of the teaching program ended, our students had improved a lot.
Also, for the past few years, I have been tutoring couples of First Lego League (FLL) teams. I guided them to set up and update their website, I taught them the software skills that I learned.
I am a very capable student and willing to teach in the right direction and hope to help other students towards their academic success.
