Briefly introduce yourself and explain why you are interested in becoming a mentor for BranchOut!:
My name is Victoria Chen, a ninth grader at Thomas Jefferson High School. In school, my favorite classes are biology and computer science. Outside school, I enjoy reading and drawing. As a student, I know the feeling of being frustrated with difficult topics, as well as being afraid to ask others for help. As a mentor, I would be able to tackle both problems. Tutoring rewards me in a way that improves the mentee's as well as my skills. When studying for a test, I try to teach others to find out which concepts I do understand and which concepts I do not understand. Therefore, being a mentor would improve my teaching abilities and my understanding of concepts. Additionally, mentoring is an opportunity for me to learn from others and discover different perspectives and ways of learning. Finally, I believe that mentoring makes a difference, not only in the mentee but also the community and myself.
