Briefly introduce yourself and explain why you are interested in becoming a mentor for BranchOut!:
I am currently a rising Senior at TJ. From a very young age, I am very interested in STEM. I have had many of informal mentors in our circle of family friends. I always loved my science and math classes from elementary and middle school. This led me to pursue many science-related activities like Odyssey of the Mind, E-Cybermission, ProjectCS Girls etc. My current schooling at TJ, which is a dedicated Science and Technology school, has given me more exciting opportunities to pursue my interest in science and math. As I have been mentored, I realize the value and crucial role it can play in a child's life. So, I would like to take this exciting opportunity of mentoring younger kids. I have mentored my brother and his team extensively for the Odyssey of the competition. With that experience, I found out that I love working with younger kids, in helping them understand new concepts and opening their minds to new ways of thinking. I also love teaching Math, Science and CS to my younger brother and his friends, whenever needed. So I am confident that I will be able to do a good job of helping younger kids. I participated in Branchout program last year ,tutoring kids.
