Describe your tutoring experience if you have any:

I have always enjoyed tutoring other students. I was able to do a lot of tutoring in middle school including participating in a writing center and an after-school math program. For both of these experiences, I tutored students that were either my age or one year younger than me. As a part of my duties as a member of National Junior Honor Society, I chose to volunteer my time towards tutoring because I felt that it was the most rewarding way to serve the community.

What subjects can you confidently tutor?

Biology, Algebra I, Algebra II, English/Language Arts, Music

When will you be able to participate and volunteer in the program?

6/24 - 6/28, 7/1 - 7/5

Cumulative Weighted GPA:

Briefly introduce yourself and explain why you are interested in becoming a mentor for BranchOut!:

My name is Rebecca and I am a rising sophomore at Langley High School. Since elementary school, I have always been interested in STEM. I have participated in many extracurricular activities that have allowed me to expand my interest in STEM including Science Olympiad and out of school math classes. STEM classes were always my favorite classes and to me, the most interesting ones. The teachers I have had over the past few years have fueled my interest in STEM. I feel very fortunate that I have attended schools that have given me opportunities to explore my interests. Because of this, I have found peer tutoring a great way to utilize my time to help others and I really hope I can continue to do that this summer.
