Describe your tutoring experience if you have any:
Most of my tutoring experience comes from mentoring at BranchOut!. But, I also tutor at my high school. Through various society's (French, Math, and National), I tutor kids in subjects focused on wherever they need help. Most of the time, I tutor kids in Pre-Calc, Algebra, French, and Chemistry. This group usually consists of freshman, sophomores, and juniors in high school. When tutoring kids, I like to figure out what they are struggling in and help them through that with various exercises or activities. For example, earlier this year I was tutoring a girl in Algebra and she was struggling with factoring quadratics. I had her attempt a problem and I realized that she struggled with creating a number that fit for both a sum and a product. Using the "X" method, I showed her how to come up with these numbers efficiently and correctly.
I've always enjoyed tutoring. I go to school, gain all this knowledge, and then get the opportunity to help others with it. I hope that this year I will be able to help more kids through BranchOut! and expand my skills as a tutor.
