Briefly introduce yourself and explain why you are interested in becoming a mentor for BranchOut!:
My name is Michelle Wang, and I am a current junior at Freedom High School and the Loudoun Academy of Science. I first heard about Branch Out from one of my friends, and so I visited the website and was immediately drawn in by how diverse the program is. I also read about the organization’s mission to bridge achievement gaps, which is something that I believe needs to be done. I also have a passion for STEM that I believe I could share with students I am mentoring. I have also enjoyed working with younger children in STEM activities, which has helped both the students and me develop a stronger passion for STEM and introduced me to new areas, such as engineering, that I would not normally be able to study in school.
