Briefly introduce yourself and explain why you are interested in becoming a mentor for BranchOut!:

I am a student at Montgomery Blair High School who is aspiring to become a mentor because I believe that BranchOut! fits many of my goals and desires.
Firstly, BranchOut! offers many genuine ways for me to give back to the community. Because I am in the magnet program, I often feel the need to apply what I have learned in a real-world scenario in order to both expand what I know, and develop relationships with other people. Being a part of the BranchOut! team is important to me because I highly value the ability to teach other people something valuable and truly wish to spark interest in certain subjects. Moreover, I believe that the interaction between various participants and mentors would help sharpen my teamwork skills and will serve as a catalyst for future opportunities.
Also, by working as a mentor, I will be able to obtain valuable experience that I could not otherwise obtain. I believe that up-close learning is important and highly desire to experience the interaction between both the mentees and other mentors. Finally, by mentoring, I feel like I am making a positive contribution to the world and hope to inspire some of the participants.
