Briefly introduce yourself and explain why you are interested in becoming a mentor for BranchOut!:

Hello! My name is Kenneth Wang, and I am currently a junior at TJHSST. I have a major interest in computer science, specifically machine learning, computer vision, and app development. My interests aside, there are two main reasons why I would like to be a mentor for BranchOut!: 1) to give back to the community, and 2) to improve my leadership skills and build character. I absolutely cherish the idea of using my own skills and abilities to benefit the community, and I have done this before with my piano playing, art, and academics before in a variety of programs, organizations, and volunteer opportunities. BranchOut! is another one of these unique opportunities that does not pop up very often, and having participated in it before I recognize how it differs itself from other programs in that it targets the younger, minority demographic. Additionally, in an effort to become the best person I can be, I wholeheartedly believe that BranchOut! is capable of bringing me confidence in my leading ability. Since I would characterize my weakness as lacking confidence in my leadership skills, BranchOut! could be my first step to becoming more confident and to building a stronger character.
