Describe your tutoring experience if you have any:

As a high schooler, I always have the opportunities to communicate with others. In class, I usually try my best to help my classmates if they have any questions. I think I helped out most of the people in my Chemistry Honors and AP Chinese class. Outside of the classroom, I'm also a member of the National Math Honor Society Club at my high school, so I usually will have to tutor others with math, too. Younger students such as my cousin, a fourth grade elementary student was one of my tutee. To me, the key of tutoring is to have patience. When I'm teaching someone, I would be calm and go on things in detail. The fact that you are tutoring someone, means that the person you are tutoring is in need of help, so it is important to sort everything out and help them to understand the contents.

What subjects can you confidently tutor?

Algebra I, Chinese, Technology

When will you be able to participate and volunteer in the program?

6/24 - 6/28, 7/1 - 7/5, 7/8 - 7/12, 7/15 - 7/19, 7/22 - 7/26

Cumulative Weighted GPA:

4.0

Briefly introduce yourself and explain why you are interested in becoming a mentor for BranchOut!:

I'm interested in becoming a mentor for BranchOut! for many reasons. First, I have always want to give back to the community by participating in civic engagement. As a child, I was always taught by my Dad that all human are equal and if one day you are stronger than the others, try to give them a hand instead of stepping over them. Second, I enjoy tutoring younger children. It's such an excited moment when they have discovered something with your help, we have all been young, so I know that it might not seem like a huge accomplishment, but it's definitely a successful advancement. As they are learning, you are also gaining something--- Responsibility. Last, I love the field of STEM. I think this would be a unmissable opportunity for me to meet similar people and exchange ideas. I believe, this event is going to open my eye and my bag will be filled with knowledge when I leave.
