Briefly introduce yourself and explain why you are interested in becoming a mentor for BranchOut!:
I am 10th grader in magnet program at Montgomery Blair High School who is very interested in the field of math, science, computer science, and music. As a sophomore, I am participating in a variety of school clubs including Math Team, Science Olympiad, Physics, Computer Science Team, and Volleyball Team. To organize the many activities, the other members and I work hard and cooperate very well with each other. Music is also a very important aspect in my life. Currently, I play flute in Maryland Classic Youth Philharmonic (MCYO) and studied piano for 10 years.
The reasons why being a mentor for Branch out is so attractive to me are from these following benefits. As a mentor, I can have something to learn from everyone, and also have something to teach as well. I will be able to share with mentees information about my own study path, as well as provide guidance, motivation, and emotional support. In addition, I can improve my leadership, communication, personal skills, and my circle of friends. Also, I can increase my confidence and motivation, gain recognition for my skills and experience
When I become a mentor, I learn how things work at different levels and in different places. To be a mentor can benefit me and my mentees. I am eager to have a chance of mentoring with Branch Out, and believe I will succeed in the program.
