Briefly introduce yourself and explain why you are interested in becoming a mentor for BranchOut!:
My name is Eric Ma and I am a tenth grade student at BASIS Independent McLean. When it comes to which subjects I pride myself on, I often do so on math and physics. I strongly desire to participate in this program because I find pleasure in passing on knowledge to others. I see this mentoring program as an opportunity for me to further my tutoring abilities, and fits my interests perfectly. Fostering an encouraging and enthusiastic learning environment is important to me. I am a firm believer that students learn best when they are interested. As such, my goal is to find new and creative methods to teach my peers, as well as to help them engage more closely with learning the material. At my school, I am a mathematics tutor for students ranging from elementary to pre-calculus levels. By spreading an enjoyable experience surrounding math, I am able to help other students in more ways than just explaining class material.
