Describe your tutoring experience if you have any:

My most recent tutoring experiences was assisting at Hope Chinese school. I was a teacher assistant for a fourth grade MLP chinese class for a whole semester. I mainly just graded quizzes and assisted in There were around thirty students in my class and even though they were a bit rowdy, I enjoyed my time there a lot and I would love to do it again.
Another tutoring experience I did was a school program called Math Ambassadors, where advanced students would help seventh and eighth graders who were struggling with math. I tutored a seventh grader and we met up every week to help her with what they learned in school the previous week. Her performance in math rose exponentially with the extra help and I was really pleased with how she was progressing. I think I had a big influence on her and it made me really realize how big of an impact I could make to other people.

Briefly introduce yourself and explain why you are interested in becoming a mentor for BranchOut!:

My name is Elaine Liu and I am a rising ninth grader. I am interested in being a mentor for BranchOut because I think it would be a great experience for me and I really enjoy teaching. All my tutoring experiences have been really fun and I realized that I love working with others and being a role model for younger kids.
I think having great teamwork and communication skills are really helpful and I would like to improve mine. This would be a great way to interact with all kinds of different people and learn to be more assertive and confident. Kids are also really fun to hang out with and there is so much to learn from being around them. They see things in a different perspective and it is always fun to hear what they have to say. Teaching people and assisting gives me a feeling of contentment because I know that I am making a difference and always trying my best to help out.
