Briefly introduce yourself and explain why you are interested in becoming a mentor for BranchOut!:
My name is Daniel Soong, a sophomore attending River Hill High School. My interest lies in the STEM field, especially engineering and robotics. I intend on becoming a Branch Out mentor for two reasons: first, I wish to further enhance my STEM knowledge and skills through teaching others. Second, I also would like to give back to the community through helping students in their learning, so that they can be better prepared for school and their academic studies. I also enjoy helping kids see their full potential, inspiring, motivating them through using my expertise in science, technology, engineering, and math. I am a caring, hardworking, responsible, and respectful person. I see Branch out as a unique organization than others because Branch out is aimed to create a win-win situation in terms of their students and mentors. Branch out helps the mentees by stimulating them with critical thinking, creativity, and logic, while the mentor will enhance their interpersonal communication skills, in addition to receiving more multi-cultural interactions. This is a great organization that provides a special learning environment for students at this level, and I definitely want to contribute what I have and be a part of this great program.
