Briefly introduce yourself and explain why you are interested in becoming a mentor for BranchOut!:
Hi, my name is Alan Qi and I am 15, also a sophomore currently attending Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology. I love playing the piano and swimming. I have attended three nationals in Quiz Bowl with our team receiving top 10. I have also participated in nationals for public forum debate, creating arguments and public speaking. I have a lot of leadership experience in my community, including coaching students in STEM and organizing fundraising to fund my school’s extracurriculars to help low-income students to participate in national competitions. My favorite subject is science, especially Biology and Chemistry. I enjoy teaching students of all different ages about different interesting STEM topics. However, I think Branch Out will allow me to undergo a more complete mentoring experience that I can use to help foster learning in young children. Also, the Branch Out mentorship program offers a large assortment of topics to make my mentorship experience fun and interesting!
